Hello everyone!

Hey guys,

My name is Alisha Palmer and I am Jill's sister-in-law. This has been a great challenge for me so far. My biggest struggle is not eating sweets. I love chocolate, cookies, cake, and the list goes on and on. My work is infamous for always having some kind of cake or yummy food sitting out for all to eat. I have already had to say no to apple pie, and two different kinds of cake just this week, but I have done it and that feels great just to know that I have the will power to say no.

As far as the exercising, I am finding it challenging to make sure I do the 45 minutes everyday. I normally do cardio 3 times a week, but now I am adding upper and lower body with weights the other three days a week. I have always read the benefits that weight training has on your metabolism and am hoping to see some of those results. If I could get arms like Madonna out of it that would be great - or maybe just arms that would allow me to open up jars without my husbands help :).

Drinking all the water has been a struggle for me too. I think the part I hate the most is how much it makes you have to run to the bathroom!

I think my biggest mistake may have come on day one. I realized at 9:00pm Monday night that I did not have multivitamins yet to take, so I lost a point on that day for the silliest thing and I think it may come back to haunt me at the end of this challenge :(.

I would love to hear about any tips you guys have on exercising and good healthy recipes.

  1. Hi Alisha! So glad you joined all of us Durango crazies! And I completely understand what you mean about the sugar at work - there is a candy jar ON MY DESK for customers that, I swear, calls to me.

I will post a little later a new recipe I found this week. We tried it last night for our small group, and it was a hit!

As far as exercise, somedays I get up early & do a pilates dvd I have. Other days I walk during my lunch hour. It's nice to vary what you do so that you don't get bored.

    Glad you're doing it too!

  3. Yea! Yea! for my SIL. She rocks! And I'm so glad to have more family doing it. I highly doubt that you will lose because of one multi-vitamin miss. I've had a heck of a time fitting in workouts while on vacation. And there's so much temptation! I'm doing alright but right now exercise is my biggest struggle. We need to hike while we're up here:)
